Interior house painting across Hobart.

Walls, ceilings, doors, skirtings and architraves repainted with quality low-VOC paints and a genuinely neat finish. Full preparation, careful protection of your floors and furniture, and a tidy clean-up. A single room runs roughly $300–$750; a full 3-bedroom interior typically $4,500–$9,000 depending on ceilings, condition and finish.

What an interior repaint includes.

What we paint.

A full interior covers walls and ceilings, plus doors, door frames, window reveals, skirting boards and architraves — the trim is what lifts a repaint from “rolled the walls” to a finished room. We also do feature walls, single rooms, hallways and stairwells, built-in joinery and cornices. Tell us the scope and we’ll quote exactly what’s in and what’s out, in writing.

Our interior process.

  1. Protect the space. Furniture moved and covered, floors and carpet masked, power points and fixtures protected, doors off where needed.
  2. Prepare surfaces. Fill cracks, dents and nail holes, sand back, spot-prime patches and any bare or stained areas, sand again for a smooth base. Seal water stains so they don’t bleed through.
  3. Cut in and coat. Neat brush cut-ins at ceilings, corners and trim, then even roller coats — the correct number for the colour and surface, applied to AS/NZS 2311.
  4. Trim and detail. Doors, frames, skirtings and architraves brushed or sprayed for a smooth, hard-wearing finish.
  5. Clean and sign off. Full clean-up, furniture back, and a walk-round with you to check every surface.

Low-VOC paints — better for a closed-up winter home.

We use quality low- or zero-VOC interior paints as standard. They have far less odour and off-gassing, which matters when you’re living in the space — particularly through a cool Hobart winter when the house is shut up. Lower fumes mean faster, healthier re-occupancy for kids, asthma sufferers and anyone sensitive to paint smell.

Pre-1970 home? Lead-safe matters indoors too.

If you’re in an older Sandy Bay, Battery Point or New Town home, the existing interior paint may be lead-based. Sanding old painted trim and doors can release lead dust into the room. We follow AS 4361.2 lead-safe practice indoors — dust control, containment and clean collection — so your family isn’t exposed. More on that on our heritage & weatherboard painting page.

Why we don’t cut corners on prep.

A wall painted over cracks, flaking patches or an unsealed stain looks fine for a fortnight and then tells on you. Filling, sanding and spot-priming is what gives a flat, durable, professional finish that still looks good in five years. We’d rather spend the extra hour preparing than hand back a room that needs touching up by spring.
